Na blogach około wnętrzarskich (craftowych zresztą też) zakwitło ogrodami i balkonami. Ja nie mam ani jednego ani drugiego. Mam tylko parapety i światło do południa bo potem kamienica po drugiej stronie ulicy zasłania wszystko. Taki los życia w centrum w starej (ha, ponad stuletniej) zabudowie. No ale ja też postanowiłam zaprosić trochę zieleni do siebie - zrobiłam ziołowy ogródek.
The topic of gardens and balconies sprout recently on interior (and craft) blogs. I have neither garden nor balcony, only small windowsills and sunlight till 12.00. After noon the building on another side of the street casts it's shadow and it becomes a little bit obscure in our apartment. This is life in the city center in old (more than 100 years old) tenement. But it doesn't stop me from introducing green to my home. I decided to grew a herb garden.
Pomysł na ogródek wziął się od tego, że co wyprawę na rynek przynosiłam jakieś ziółko w doniczce. A to bazylia, a to rozmaryn, trochę mięty i oregano. Każda doniczka z innej parafii a mięta to już w ogóle rosła w pudełku po twarożku. Stwierdziłam, że trzeba zrobić z tym jakiś porządek. Całą tą zabawę w ogrodnika udokumentowałam na zdjęciach.
Idea for a garden started with me bringing home herbs every time I went to the farmers market. Basil, mint, rosemary, oregano. Each one was growing in different pot and what's funnier mint was in cottage cheese cup. It was too big mess so I decided to play a gardener. I recorded the process on photos.
Zaczęłam od wysypania dna doniczki grysem, żeby nadmiar wody miał się gdzie zebrać. Potem oczyściłam ziółka z nadmiaru starej gleby (lekko jeszcze zakażonej ziemiórką - nie znosze tego szkodnika!). Potem wszystko ładnie usadziłam na miejscach, zostawiając wolną przestrzeń na roślinki, które dokupię później. Na koniec wszystko ładnie przysypałam glebą, podlałam i oto mam swój mały ziołowy ogródek :)
I started with covering the bottom of the pot with fine stones, so the excess of water has were to stay. Than I've cleaned herbs from old soil (still a little bit contaminated with fungus gnats - how I hate this pest!). I put all in the pot, leaving some free space for the new plants to come. At the end I covered everything with fresh soil thus finishing my little, herb garden :)
No i odrazu zrobiło się zielono w domu. A świeże zioła pod ręką to świetna sprawa. Są po stokroć lepsze od suszonych i dodatkowo ozdabiają kuchnię. W planach mam jeszcze parę zielonych pomysłów do domu. A jak tam u was z zielenią w domu? Macie swoje ogródki, świeże zioła czy kwiaty? Marzy wam się ogród - najlepiej taki zaczarowany? Mnie tak, ale niestety zostaje on na razie w sferze marzeń.
Immediately it became greener in the house. Fresh herbs close at hand are just great. They are much better than dried ones and additionally they decorate the kitchen. I plan a couple more green projects for the future. And how's with green in your houses? Do you have any gardens with herbs and flowers? Do you dream of a real garden? I do, but unfortunately it's only in my dreams.
